科罗拉多州健康基金会, 科罗拉多信托, and KFF Team Up to Bring More Health Journalism to Colorado

KHN to Add 工作人员 and Freelancers in Colorado

科罗拉多州丹佛市 & SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The 科罗拉多州健康基金会, 科罗拉多信托, and KFF (the Henry J. 凯撒家庭基金会) are partnering to bring Kaiser Health 新闻 (KHN) to Colorado. KFF—the trusted source of 卫生政策 information—produces 卫生政策 analysis, 轮询, 和新闻, and KHN is its editorially independent national health and 卫生政策 newsroom, producing in-depth news coverage of health care policy and politics.

Thanks to a new long-term partnership with the 科罗拉多州健康基金会 and 科罗拉多信托, KFF will hire a Colorado-based KHN reporter and recruit a team of freelance journalists throughout the state to bring the same high-quality health journalism to Colorado and the surrounding region that KHN produces nationally. This partnership will also share important stories from Colorado and the region with the nation. KHN stories produced from the region will be made freely available for publication by media outlets throughout Colorado, 山区各州, 还有这个国家, 并将在 khn.org and distributed through KHN’s social media platforms.

“Elevating the voices and exploring the experiences of Coloradans and the communities they call home are key to achieving more health equity in our state,凯伦·麦克尼尔-米勒说, president and CEO of the 科罗拉多州健康基金会. “新闻 stories illustrate and bring to life what data alone cannot. They shine a light on the often invisible barriers that inequity creates in the lives of far too many Coloradans. Trusted and reliable news sources are critical to creating an informed and engaged public and surfacing solutions that will bring health in reach for all of us.”

“This is an important step towards addressing a long-time need for more stories on health equity, 卫生政策, and health care issues in our state,尼德·卡龙说, MD, 英里每小时, president and CEO of 科罗拉多信托. “Allowing Coloradans to understand how their health is impacted by policies, 系统, and social circumstances is essential to ending inequalities, as well as improving individual and community well-being. We are especially pleased that these stories will be available for free to any Colorado media outlet.”

“With this support from two of Colorado’s leading health philanthropies, we hope to help fill the need for in-depth coverage of health in Colorado and 山区各州 and bring those stories to the nation at the same time,德鲁·奥特曼说, KFF’s CEO and KHN’s founding publisher.

KHN’s more than 50 journalists are mostly based in KFF’s Washington, D.C. offices or in 加州, and this expansion to Colorado follows on the 最近宣布的创作 of a KHN Midwest Bureau in St. 路易斯,密苏里州.

“纵观KHN的历史, we have been fortunate to receive support from a fantastic group of national and regional health foundations who understand the importance of editorially independent, 非营利性健康新闻,大卫·卢梭说, KFF vice president and executive director of Media and Technology, 以及KHN的出版商. “Their support has made it possible for us to extend KHN’s reach to new communities and new topics, and we are thrilled to work with the 科罗拉多州健康基金会 and 科罗拉多信托 to increase health reporting for and about Colorado.”
