Healthier Generation Welcomes Karen McNeil-Miller to its 董事会 of Directors

McNeil-Miller joins Healthier Generation’s 董事会 with more than 35 years of experience serving in various roles driving social impact at the local, 州级和国家级. Driven by her belief that health is a basic human right 和 an unyielding commitment to a community-informed approach, her work as the president 和 CEO of The Colorado Health Foundation (since 2015) focuses on guiding the Foundation to determine the most impactful investment of human, financial 和 influence capital to support equitable health opportunities for Coloradans who have low income 和 have historically had less power 和 privilege.

Prior to joining The Colorado Health Foundation, McNeil-Miller served as the president of the Kate B. 雷诺慈善信托基金. One of the largest private foundations in 北卡罗莱纳, McNeil-Miller led the Trust’s impact work on a variety of issues, from rural health to healthcare access. 以前, she served for nearly two decades on the staff of the Center for Creative Leadership, an international leadership development 和 research nonprofit organization headquartered in Greensboro, 北卡罗莱纳. 在她任职期间, Karen advanced efforts focused on individual 和 organizational leadership development, 战略思考, 多样性, 高管培训, 改变管理.

McNeil-Miller, a former special education teacher 和 head of the Piedmont School in 北卡罗莱纳, is active within the nonprofit, philanthropic 和 rural health communities. She currently serves on the boards of the Denver Academy, Campbell University 和 College Track, 和 is chair of the board for the Association of Black Foundation Executives. She holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of 北卡罗莱纳 at Greensboro as well as a master’s degree in cross-categorical special education 和 a doctorate of education from V和erbilt University. 作为董事会成员, McNeil-Miller will play a key role in driving Healthier Generation’s efforts to address the physical, social 和 emotional health of children.
